This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the App, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We are based in the European Union and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Account data. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name (or a private relay identifier if you use Apple's "Hide My Email"), email address, and an authentication identifier. We use this to create and secure your account.
Content you provide. If you choose to add your CV or background text to personalize a report, we store that text with your account. Providing a CV is entirely optional. We also store the company names, positions, and preferences you enter when creating reports.
Generated content. The interview-preparation reports, quizzes, and quiz results generated for you are stored with your account so you can access them across devices.
Purchase data. Purchases are processed by Apple. We never see or store your payment card details. We receive purchase confirmations (product identifier, transaction identifier, timestamp) through Apple and our payment infrastructure provider (RevenueCat) in order to credit your account.
Usage and diagnostic data. Basic technical data (app version, device type, crash logs, feature usage events) used to keep the App working and improve it. You can turn off usage analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy; diagnostics needed to fix crashes are kept minimal and never include your CV or report content.
Referral data. If you use or share a referral code, we store the code and the connection between referring and referred accounts to grant referral credits and prevent abuse.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, health data, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell personal data. We do not show third-party advertising.
When you generate a report, the App researches publicly available information about the company and role you specified. Search queries sent to our search providers contain only the company name, position, and related role keywords - never your name, email, or CV. Your CV text (if provided) is transmitted to our AI processing provider (Anthropic) together with the research material solely to generate your personalized report. We have data processing agreements with our providers, and they do not use your data to train their models under our agreements.
We use a small number of service providers ("processors") to run the App:
Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your account data, CV, reports, and quiz history are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), all of it - including your CV, generated reports, PDFs, quiz attempts, and referral records - is permanently deleted from our systems. Purchase records may be retained where required by tax and accounting law. Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be retained.
Cached, non-personal content (such as shared company previews and research-availability records) contains no personal data and is retained independently of any account.
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access your data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time (for the CV, simply delete it in Settings). To exercise any right, use the in-app tools or contact us at support@prepdossier.com. We respond within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority - in Romania, the ANSPDCP (Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal, www.dataprotection.ro), or the authority of your country of residence.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored on infrastructure that encrypts data at rest at the disk level. Access to user data is restricted by row-level security so that only your authenticated account can access your reports, CV, and credits. Payment card data never touches our systems.
The App is not directed at children and is intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be announced in the App before they take effect. The current version is always available here, in the App (Settings → Legal).
